The Scoliosis Book Club
Wanted: Supportive Books
This project was driven by the global need to fill the gap in scoliosis books loaded with empathy and lived experiences.
We love books here, and we want more more more! A list is being compiled of books that showcase the trials and triumphs of characters with dynamic, invisible, and/or spinal conditions.
Access this list on StoryGraph, find a new book to curl up with, and each time you come across scoliosis or dynamic disabilities in ANY books, send a note to Tangled in the Curves - it will be added to this list so that collectively we have one reading list to drive discussions in The Scoliosis Book Club forum.
What new fave read will you uncover?
The Scoliosis Watch List
Wanted: Accurate Representation
Scoliosis in the media… Where to even begin…
To guide where we want our representation to go, we must first assess where we stand.
An ongoing, globally-curated list of all instances of scoliosis depictions in tv/movies is in the making! Access this list on IMDB, watch a new movie or two, and each time you come across scoliosis in ANY tv/media, send a note to Tangled in the Curves - it will be added to this list so that collectively we have ONE source. Positive or negative mentions, we want them ALL!
From there, we work to create positive and accurate depictions of scoliosis in the media.
While you wait for your copy of Tangled in the Curves to arrive, here are some reliable and trusted resources to get you started on your scoli journey!
