Scoliosis 101

Scoliosis is a three-dimensional spinal curve — often appearing in adolescence — causing visible curves, uneven shoulders or hips, and posture changes. Most cases are idiopathic - meaning ‘no known cause’. The only official diagnosis comes from an X-ray and a spine specialist. Severity (measured in degrees on X‑ray) guides care.
